Richard Brennan Bio
Richard is managing director of Sport Science Consultants Ltd. He is a clinically trained Exercise Physiologist with a BSc. in Sport Science and an MSc. in Sport & Exercise Physiology. He completed his clinical training at The Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, UCL. He is an ECB L2 cricket coach and has been coaching at Spencer C.C.in SW London for 9 years. He is also an RFU L2 rugby coach. After coaching age group rugby and playing socially at Rosslyn Park for 9 years he decided to hang up his rugby boots and become a complete cycling obsessive.
Richard designs and implements testing protocols for runners, cyclists and triathletes, from elite professionals to over 50’s planning their first Sportive, using a combination of computerised breath-by-breath gas analysis and blood lactate testing to neuromuscular EMG assessment. Richards also designs personalised training and nutrition programs from 4 week beginner programs to more complex year-long strength and conditioning plans.
Richards has written for Men’s Fitness, Outdoor Fitness and Your Health magazine and his clients include British Triathlon and the International Triathlon Union. SSC are located at University College School, Hampstead and Royal Russell School, Surrey and their mobile Sport Science Lab can be found at various Cycling and Running Stores nationwide.
