It’s you vs nature at the 2015/16 Off-Road Series

11th August 2015

Participants are sure to be covered in both mud and glory when the Human Race Off-Road Series returns later this year. WildMan (21 November), IceMan (5 December) and MudMan (5 March) form the series of testing trail run and duathlons. Each are hosted at military venues close to London and are extremely popular, reaching full capacity in 2014/15.

Early-bird prices are now in place, allowing those who commit promptly to get in at the best possible price. Those brave enough to take on all three of the gruelling challenges can sign up for the series at a reduced cost, and will be included on the off-road leaderboard giving them the opportunity to win a trophy and some great cash prizes. Standard and late entry prices will follow closer to the events.

The series begins with WildMan held at Ash Ranges near Aldershot on Saturday 21 November. Don’t be deceived by the beautiful countryside surroundings, this is a gruelling undulating course that does not relent. Trail runners can choose from 10k or 15k options, with a duathlon (10k run, 18k bike, 5k run) also available.

Next up on Saturday 5 December is IceMan, held at the Army Training Ground in Frimley. The weather is likely to play its part, with it traditionally being treacherous underfoot and insanely muddy. Those who want to attempt the trail run can choose from 11k and 16k courses, whilst the duathlon will be a 10k run followed by 18k on the bike and a 5k run to finish.

The finale of the 2015/16 Human Race Off-Road Series will be MudMan on Saturday 5 March. The event returns to the Ministry of Defence in Camberley known for its hilly course and 50 foot water section. Here you can choose from the duathlon (7.5 run, 15k cycle, 7.5 run) or from the 10k and 15k trail run courses.

The courses contain no gimmicks, so it really is just ‘You Vs Nature’, a battle sure to test both the body and mind, but always remaining tremendous fun. Dogs will once again be welcome to join trail runners with a special ‘canicross’ wave for those who love to jog alongside their four legged friends.

A limited number of entries into the Human Race Off-Road Series are now available. Visit www.humanrace.co.uk/off-road to secure a place in any of the three events, or the entire series, at the special early-bird rates.
