International Women’s Day (8th March 2016) is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women and what better place to see the fantastic triumphs of women in sport than the Shock Absorber WomenOnly Triathlon? On Sunday 10th July women across the UK will once again compete in triathlons at the Eton Dorney venue, varying in distances from a Taster Triathlon to an Olympic distance, with some extremely impressive times to-date.

Some of the fastest times for the Sprint distance in 2015 included Rachel Coe-O’Brien from South London Harriers Tri Club who finished in a swift 1 hour and 12 minutes. Rachel’s time included a 5km run in 19:54 and a blistering cycle time of 36:52 over 21.2km. The fastest Sprint distance swim time was a fantastic 10 minutes 43 seconds over the 750m course by Helen O’Neile.

Competitors on the Challenge distance of a 800m swim, 31.8km bike and 7.5km run were equally impressive as Bridget Lincoln from Farnham Triathlon Club led the way in the swim with a time of 11 minutes 30 seconds, Charlotte Saunders from Viceroys Triathlon Club set a time of 56:45 on the bike course and had a similarly good run, with the best time on the field of 31:03, taking her to the top of the leaderboard.

First-timers as well as seasoned competitors are just as welcome to the event as the shorter, Taster Triathlon (200m Swim, 5.3km Bike, 2.5km Run) distance is introduced. The friendly and sociable atmosphere of the WomenOnly Tri allows each and every competitor the opportunity to take part in this fantastic event, with best in age groupers going up against first timers.

There are no muscles in the breasts, only skin and Cooper’s ligaments support breast tissue. Any excessive amount of breast movement puts strain on these ligaments causing them to stretch. Nothing can naturally restore them. Wearing a Shock Absorber sports bra will help to prevent long term damage to your breasts during exercise.
