Best times of Human Race Triathlon series 2017 revealed – sign up for the Duchenne UK ‘Season Finale’ Triathlon for your chance to beat a record and win

It’s been another hugely successful year for the Human Race Triathlon Series at Dorney Lake, with thousands of participants swimming, cycling and running their way around this magnificent venue. On Sunday 17th September, the Duchenne UK ‘Season Finale’ triathlon will take place, offering one last chance to set a personal best and perhaps clock a 2017 record.

Our charity partner, Duchenne UK, raises money to fund and accelerate treatments and find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD is a desperately cruel muscle wasting disease and is the most common genetic killer of children, predominantly affecting boys who are unlikely to live past their twenties. You can help Duchenne UK raise money to fund ground-breaking research by using your muscles to help those who are losing theirs – test your strength by trying to beat the best times of the year so far over the Sprint and Olympic distances.

With a mix of familiar names from the world of triathlon, alongside some impressive newcomers, the current stats show some pretty speedy times – do you think you could beat any of the 2017 records at the Duchenne UK Triathlon?

There will be some fantastic prizes on offer for the person who sets a new 2017 record at Dorney, across both Olympic and Sprint distances, male and female participants.  Beat the 2017 swim record to win a £100 Zone3 voucher and Zone3 Stealth bundle, while grabbing a new bike record will get you a Trek helmet and cycling shoes. Record breakers in the run can win a new pair of running shoes while a place at the Human Race flagship event, the Nuffield Health Royal Windsor Triathlon, is on offer for anyone who manages to set a new fastest overall time for 2017.

As well as the traditional Sprint and Olympic distances, the Duchenne UK Triathlon also includes taster and novice options for those first-timers thinking about giving a triathlon a go in 2017. With a flat, closed road bike and run course, as well as clean, calm lake waters Dorney Lake is the perfect place to dip your toes into the sport. Younger members of the family can join in the fun too with children’s race options, as well as the popular duathlon for those who don’t fancy a swim. Participants also have the opportunity to win Enertor Spot Prizes on the day, grabbing themselves a pair of the popular insoles worn by Usain Bolt.

With already over 1000 people signed up, the Duchenne UK ‘season finale’ Triathlon promises to be the  biggest event of the series. Expect a feel-good atmosphere with the fastest times of the year being challenged throughout the day, and the quickest finishers for 2017 in each discipline revealed. Will your name be on the list?
