Traditionally we would usually hold our annual Winter BallBuster around this time. A truly legendary event that we are very proud of. It consisted of five laps of an undulating 8-mile route around the legendary Box Hill. The first and last laps were run, the middle three were cycled, making this an incredibly tough duathlon.

As you might know we postponed the BallBuster during the pandemic with plans for it to return when conditions were more suitable. Our team have been working on the potential return for some time and sadly come to the difficult conclusion that it won’t be possible in the foreseeable future. The last edition we held in 2019 was unfortunately abandoned halfway through as weather conditions worsened and we had to prioritise participant safety. Since then Box Hill has continued to see increased traffic, whilst the costs of delivering events have risen significantly. It’s become clear that bringing it back at a reasonable cost would be extremely difficult.

Whilst we are not ready to completely close the door on BallBuster’s return at any point, we wanted to confirm that it won’t be returning in its present form for 2023 and beyond. We’d like to thank everybody who has supported and competed in the legendary BallBuster over the years. It holds a special place in the hearts of the Human Race team. We hope to see many familiar hooded tops worn with pride for years to come.

Final Dorney Lake event of the season. Duathlon option available alongside multiple triathlon distances including first timer and youth events
