6 reasons to try the Off-Road Series this winter
21st October 2016
The Human Race Events Off-Road Series is returning from this November to reclaim its spot as the UK’s premier Trail Running and Duathlon series. The Series comprises the imposing trio of WildMan (Ash Vale, 19 November), IceMan (Frimley, 3 December) and MudMan (Camberley, 11 March 2017), with all three of the tough and challenging events taking place at venues designed to test even the most dedicated of athletes. Here are six reasons why you should take on the Off-Road Series this winter:
Dedicated terrain – From the army testing ground of Ash Ranges to the military training courses at Camberley, we hand pick our event locations to ensure they offer the perfect winter test for those brave enough to take them on.
Mud, Mud and more Mud – We all fondly remember our childhood days covered from head-to-toe in mud, and our Off-Road events are no different. Set amid boggy trails and muddy hills, there is no place for white t-shirts or dazzling trainers, as participants will be getting down and dirty in the great British countryside.
Winter Fitness – The constant battle to maintain fitness during the off-season for triathletes means that there is a place in every calendar for the winter Off-Road Series. With the triathlon season kicking-off just a month or so after MudMan on 11 March, Off-Road Series participants will be in a peak state of fitness ready to post a fast time at your first triathlon.
Multiple Distances – With entrants of varying abilities, we have created a shorter version of the gruelling trail run route, meaning that whether you are a nervous first-timer, or a seasoned campaigner, we have a challenge that’s right for you.
Off-Road Leaderboard – Those signing up to complete the entire Off-Road Series have the opportunity to fight it out for the top spot on our Off-Road Leaderboard. The overall Series Champions in both the trail run and duathlon categories will receive some great prizes alongside all of the associated glory.
Entry Benefits – If the previous five reasons weren’t enough of an incentive, we will also offer a couple of additional benefits to treat our Off-Road entrants. Each participant will be given an exclusive event t-shirt to proudly wear on the day… and immediately cake in mud! We will also provide any athlete who enters the duathlon series a free place into the much loved Lidl Kingston Breakfast Run on 26 March 2017. So whether you’re training for a marathon or the triathlon season, or maybe you’re simply someone that wants to try something different; come along and take part in our gruelling but rewarding Off-Road Series.
