Sportsister’s guide to riding safely on the roads

Many women are put off cycling because of a fear of riding on roads with traffic, but if you learn the skills and communicate well with your fellow riders and drivers you can minimise any risk considerably.

We’re training for this Autumn’s Macmillan Cycletta, so there’s no avoiding the traffic – these tips via British Cycling’s Ridesmart series will help keep you safe while out riding on open roads.
