Human Race announce new 2018 Dorney Lake Series fastest times competition
18th April 2018
Human Race is about to kick off its 2018 triathlon season with the almost sold-out Eton Sprints Weekend on 19 & 20 May. This year, the event also sees the start of the new 2018 Dorney Lake ‘Swim.Bike.Run.Champion’ competition, which aims to produce some record-breaking times over the year.
With four adult triathlons at Dorney Lake in 2018, Human Race will see thousands of participants swimming, cycling and running their way around this magnificent venue. An ideal location for first timers or experienced triathletes, the clear, calm lake waters and closed-road, flat bike and run course make speedy season’s bests more than likely.
This year, there are some fantastic prizes on offer for the triathletes who set the fastest times at Dorney, across both Olympic and Sprint distances, male and female participants. Those swimming their way to success will win a Zone3 Advance wetsuit, while the fastest bike time of the year will win a £100 Sigma Sports voucher. The triathletes smashing out the fastest run in 2018 will win a TomTom Spark 3 sports watch, and the overall leading course times will win entry to the flagship Human Race event, the Royal Windsor Triathlon, in 2019.
Human Race know that triathlon is not just about swim, bike, run, which is why they’re honouring the fourth discipline and offering prizes for the fastest T1 transition too. Zipping through the challenging ‘swim to bike’ change fastest will earn speedsters an Erdinger transition backpack and case of Erdinger Alkoholfrei.
Last year’s record breakers at Dorney Lake set some pretty impressive benchmarks for 2018 triathletes to aim for, with run and swim times smashed right at the end of the season, in the final event of the year.
“We’re hoping to see some fantastic performances at Dorney Lake this year,” says Nick Rusling, CEO Human Race. “It’s a brilliant triathlon venue, and Human Race have run events there for a number of years. We’re always excited to see newcomers taking to the course, as well as those experienced competitors who are striving for a PB, and hope the fantastic prizes on offer as part of this year’s competition will offer even greater motivation to get involved and take on a triathlon challenge in 2018.”
2017 Fastest Times
Prizes will be awarded at the end of 2018 for the fastest triathletes of the year in each category, from participants across all four of the Human Race Dorney Lake events.
