Do you need help to prepare you for your first triathlon? Or do your want to improve your times this year? The elite athletes, specialists and coaches of theTriLife.com will all be on hand to present sessions focusing on all three disciplines of the triathlon and give you a chance to practice your transitions.
Starting an open water triathlon with confidence is key for every competitor, and our aim is to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this. The training will be aimed both at novices doing their as well as more experienced triathletes looking to improve their triathlon technique early in the season. You will be split into groups according to your ability so that everyone gets the help that they need, and the sessions will provide you with both practical and theoretical advice.
In addition Zoggs and blueseventy will be there to enable you to test their goggles and wetsuits.
These are just some of the things you will cover:
Swim: Open water swimming techniques including group starts, course sighting, turning, removing wetsuit etc. There will be special provision for nervous and first-time open-water swimmers.
Bike: Bike set-up and body position, bike handling skills including drinking on the bike, turning and efficient pedalling - and what do you do if you have a puncture!
Run: Efficient run technique, good warm up and post exercise stretching, pace judgement, correct shoes.
Transition: Kit layout, options to save time, applicable rules.
Numbers will be limited so early application is required.
Excellent changing facilities and hot showers are available as well as a fully stocked café with hot food and drinks.
