Start Time 10:00am
John Lunt, Director of Human Race Events, has confirmed that the water temperature has reached 23.5 degrees at Dorney Lake and that wetsuits will NOT be allowed
for any of the events there this coming weekend (3rd, 4th and 5th
July). Under ITU and BTF ruling, wetsuits are banned when the water
temperature is over 22 degrees to avoid overheating and for safety
reasons.
The full Standard (aka Olympic) distance race is here at the fantastic Dorney Lake, the Rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The SteelMan Triathlon is a 1,500m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for an 8-lap bike course covering 40.8k. The final 10k run follows a 4 lap loop along the side of the rowing tank on the tarmac paths. We reckon that if you're looking for a PB over accurate distances then this is where you're going to find it.
In order to appeal to as many triathletes as possible of all abilities we are running the full Standard distance event both as an individual race or as relay teams. (In the relay event-mixed teams will be classed as Male.)
In the relay event there should be three people per team with one doing each sector and then handing over to the next.
The event is open to any athlete who can cover the distance and is ideal for those that want to do their first Standard/Olympic distance event.
For 2009, the SteelMan Individual event has also been designated the London and SouthEast Individual Age Group Championships. Be sure to tick the box on the on-line entry form if you would like your entry to include racing in the London or SouthEast Individual Age Group Championships.

The event will be held at the Olympic rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games. Dorney Lake offers a clean open water swim, followed by a closed bike loop around the Lake, and finally the run goes down the side of the lake, making it the perfect course for beginners and seasoned triathletes alike. It's great for spectators, they can see you on each lap.
Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering and an on-site triathlon store provided by triandrun.
