The Merrell IceMan is the first stop for the Human Race off Road series.
Located in Frimley, Surrey this hard, painful, no frills race comprising of either an off road run or an off road duathlon. It’s rough, tough and dirty…
The Human Race off road series focuses on fun, pain, and dirt and the army training ground at Frimly certainly will not disappoint.
The off road 12km run will take you over rocky, dirty terrain to ensure a tough and heart pounding race.
The duathlon event consists of a hard two lap 10km off road run loop, followed by a gruelling 2 lap mountain bike circuit, consisting of 4 long, steep hills that the Army's tank force struggle to take on! The end of the Duathlon takes in a much easier 5km run, which will give the muscles a chance to power through to the finish line.
The off road race at Frimly is the first of the series and will set a precedent for the next three races through '09 and '10.
This series is not for the faint hearted and each race will test the individual’s strength, stamina and ability. The emphasis is on setting yourself a challenge to survive, and complete the course.
Each course on the series adds a new element of adventure, so set yourself that challenge to get out there and test your ability on the Merrell off Road Series.
To get to Frimley, exit the M3 at Junction 3. Head for Lightwater/Woking. Folow the bypass for 2 miles. At the first roundabout, turn right heading for Pirbright and Camberley (B311). After about 2 miles, at the next roundabout turn left and follow the road for about 2 miles. The venue is on the right.

• Ensure your mountain bike has been fully serviced. The use of cyclocross bikes will not be allowed.
• No drop handle bars
• Tyres have to be an inch and half wide
• Bring change of clothes for end of the race
• Helmets for the Duathlon are compulsory
• Toilets are available at the start & finish

• Race numbers will be sent out two weeks before the event
