220 Triathlon Magazine have teamed up with Human Race to bring you perfect evening racing.

Triathlon: 750m Swim, 20km Bike, 5km Run

Evening Triathlon Events – Ideal after work stress busters and a good solid mid week training session under race conditions. All abilities of athletes are catered for in the two wave start.

Wave one is at 6.30pm and is for beginners and intermediates and wave two goes at 7pm for the more experienced racers. This format gives everyone the chance to have a exciting race. 220 Triathlon Magazine have come on board as the event sponsors and will be running monthly reports on the events. Plus every finisher gets a free 220 Human Race T-shirt and other goodies. The normal high standard of event organisation is to be expected with chip timing being standard at all four evening events.

The event registration and transition areas are located at the far end of the lake, i.e. the opposite end to the boat house. Car park marshals will meet and guide you from the front gate of Dorney Lake.

The race begins with a mass, deep water swim start, followed by one lap of the 750 metre clear, open water swim. The course is marked with swim buoys and RNLI qualified Beach life guards will be present with safety craft. A swim course map will be displayed and the course route will be clearly explained in the race briefing.

5 laps of the ‘Island’ bike course. This comprises of two ‘2km’ straights with dead turns at the each end. Perfect for extra fast bike splits-20km in total. The chip timing system will give read outs of your lap times on the bike but the emphasis is on you to count your own 5 laps. The run course is two laps of out and back then down the finish straight.
The course is designed so you constantly get a good idea of where you are in the race in comparison to your rivals!

All race details, maps and timings will be provided on the website and race numbers and details will be mailed out at least two weeks before the race.

 

RaceLocation

Held at Eton College’s, Dorney Lake, the 100% traffic free roads are pancake flat and are very well surfaced. The bike course is out and back.

There will be two wave starts during the evening.  You have to complete a 750 metre swim, 20km bike and 5 km run. The course uses the other end of the lake to our normal events and as the title suggests are held from 6.30 in the evening. These races are an ideal stress buster after work!

Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering and an on-site triathlon store provided by triandrun.
