Do you need help to prepare you for your first triathlon? Are you entering the Shock Absorber WomenOnly Triathlon? Or do you want to improve your times this year? The female elite athletes, specialists and coaches of RG Active will all be on hand to present sessions focusing on all three disciplines of triathlon and to give you the chance to practice your transitions.
Sponsor, Shock Absorber will be at the training day, offering fitting advice and information on their range of sports bras. If you’re unsure of what to wear under your wetsuit, Shock Absorber has a range of swimwear with integrated sports bra which is perfect when it comes to the need of support in Triathlon.
RG Active sees over 5000 people each season helping them in every way imaginable as they aim to meet their multisport objectives whether that is to get themselves to the finish line, qualify for their country or just have a really good time! The highly qualified and experienced coaching team helping you on your training day include John Brame, Dermott Hayes, Marsha el-Hage, Karen Weir, Martin Shipp, Simon Kibble. Between them they provide coaching for athletes of all levels of fitness and ability from first time triathletes through to seasoned professionals and elite performers.
Starting an open water triathlon with confidence is key for every competitor, and our aim is to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this. The training will be aimed at both complete novices doing their first triathlon as well as those who have completed 1-2 triathlons but still feel like they need help on improving their triathlon technique early in the season. The sessions will provide you with both practical and theoretical advice.
These are just some of the things you will cover:
Swim: Open water swimming techniques including mass/group starts, course sighting, swimming toys and equipment, turning, fitting and removing wetsuit etc. There will be special provision for nervous and first-time open-water swimmers.
Bike: Knowing and preparing your bike, bike rules and regs, bike position, bike equipment and nutrition and hydration on the bike leg.
Run: Efficient run technique, good warm up and post exercise stretching, pace judgement, running drills.
Transition: Kit layout, transition set-up, options to save time, applicable rules.
Numbers will be limited so early application is required.
PROVISIONAL START TIME: 9:00am Registration for a 10:00am Start

WETSUIT RULE: We are often asked if wetsuits have to be worn at our events. But the wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is governed by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on water temperature one hour before the start of the event. Read the wetsuit rule for triathlons HERE. BIKE HIRE
