Garmin Race Your Pace Half Marathon Event Information

Run: Half Marathon 13.1 miles (21km)

Dorney Lake, the rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games, is a prestigious location for a half marathon. We are also proud to have the Human Race Pace Team in attendance, who will offer runners the opportunity to understand and experience one of the key factors in running a successful race – pace judgement. This pancake-flat, four-lap course is ideal for you to find your correct pace and to smash your PB and timed to fit in with preparations in the run up to the London Marathon.

In addition to the Garmin Race Your Pace Half Marathon, we are also offering a free Garmin Pace Your Race pre race seminar. This free seminar requires prior entry into the Half Marathon and is limited to the first 200 applicants.

There will be Human Race Pacers for 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 mins per mile.

Whether you’re a running veteran or a first time marathon runner, we highly recommend that you build this event into your running calendar to help you stay ahead of the game and really crack race day.

Don’t forget to wear a watch and look out for your pacer.

2014 Garmin Race Your Pace medalThe start line is 200m from The Boathouse. You will run in a clockwise direction around the lake. The course has been measured so it will have very accurate mile markers in position. We are the first to admit that the course is not particularly interesting but it is really flat, and the four-lap course allows you to pace yourself correctly. After completing your fourth lap, there’s a short finish straight with the finish line just in front of The Boathouse. There are two water stations on the course available on each lap of the run (at 3.5 miles, 7 miles and 10 miles). The water will be available in plastic cups. PowerBar products will be available at one station on each lap.

All finishers will receive a race medal and there will be a number of free Technical T-Shirt for entrants, to be collected from the finish line (first come first served in regards to sizing).

PROVISIONAL START TIME: 10:00am (Race briefing occurs 5mins before the start). Pacer groups will set off together in order, 6min mile - 12min mile)

AGE REQUIREMENT: Minimum Age 18 on Event Day

CUT OFF TIME: Due to venue restrictions we have to place a cut off time for runners of 3 hours.

MP3 PLAYERS ETC: Human Race strongly discourages the use of any equipment that acts as an impediment to hearing or concentration when competing. This includes, but is not limited to, mobile telephones, personal stereos and MP3 players. Human Race can not be responsible for accidents resulting from racing with such equipment.
