Open Water Swimming Training

Human Race will be hosting an open water swim training day at Dorney Lake with 1½ hr sessions (45 minutes theoretical and 45 minutes swimming practical).
Starting an open water swim or triathlon with confidence is key for every competitor and our aim is to provide you with all the advice and support to help you achieve this. The training will be aimed at both complete novices doing their first open water swim as well as those who have completed 1-2 open water swims but still feel like they need help on improving their open water swimming technique early in the season. We will split you into groups according to your ability and the session will provide you with practical and theoretical advice by a number of triathlon experts, lead by the experienced swim coaches at RG Active.
Experts will provide you with advice on all aspects of the swim section including
Goggles – correct fitting and top tips whilst racing
Wetsuit – correct fitting and how to get it on and off quickly
Open water swimming techniques
Race top tips for group starts, course sighting etc
PROVISIONAL START TIMES: 9am / 10:45am / 12:30pm

The event hotel is the Heathrow/Windsor Marriott Hotel. Full on-site parking means you can come and go while the event is taking place, we have showers and toilets aplenty and there is catering in the Boathouse. The Human Race Open Water Series splashed down at beautiful Branksome Beach, near Poole, for the first swim of the series, the Spring Swim. Hundreds of competitors lined the shoreline, many wrapped up with swimmers gloves and socks preparing to take the plunge into the bracing 11 degree sea.
