Macmillan Cycletta is the UK’s leading series of women-only bike rides, supported by Olympic Gold Medallist Victoria Pendleton, designed for women of all ages and abilities. Macmillan Cycletta came to Scone Palace, near Perth for the first time in 2013 and the event attracted a high number of participants.

As with any Macmillan Cycletta event, there is no obligation to fundraise if you want to take part. We would love you to raise as much money as possible to help the great work Macmillan do for those who are suffering with cancer. No portion of the entry fee goes directly to Macmillan, any money received by Macmillan comes from fundraising undertaken by participants.


PROVISIONAL START TIMES: 09:00 - 100km, 09:10 - Challenge, 09:25 - Classic, 09:40 - Novice

AGE REQUIREMENT: Minimum Age 12 at 31 December, 2015 (anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult)

Scootathlon @ CyclettaThe Scootathlon @ Macmillan Cycletta Scotland is a mini fun triathlon for children between the ages of 4 and 8 where they scoot, bike and run. This will take place on the same day as the Macmillan Cycletta event so there will be something fun and entertaining for the kids to try while you take on a Macmillan Cycletta ride.

BY CAR: From Dundee, Edinburgh of Glasgow, follow the signs for the 'A93 Braemar'. We are situated two miles north of Perth on the A93.

BY AIR: Scone Palace is a 40 minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport. Follow the signs for Perth (M90) then take signs for Scone Palace. The smaller airport of Dundee is 22 miles away and Scone Airport, which has facilities for light aircraft, is ten minutes away.

Before exercise, your main priority is ensuring you are hydrated to have the best chance of putting in your best performance. During exercise, there are no hard and fast rules about how much to drink but, 400-800ml per hour will prevent dehydration and overhydration. After exercise, the sooner you start to replace the fluid the sooner you will recover. So make drinking your priority immediately after exercise.

You can make a difference to the lives of people living with cancer by using your Macmillan Cycletta challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Cycletta’s title sponsor & official charity partner. There is no minimum fundraising pledge, but £50 is a great initial target to aim for and is really achievable. £50 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for two hours, providing vital practical, medical and emotional support to people living with cancer.
