About the event

This one is just for the females amongst us! The Shock Absorber WomenOnly Triathlon has evolved into a full female-only multi-sport day. Take your pick; there’s something for everyone. So, whether it’s about taking on a challenge for the first time for the official charity Breast Cancer Care, or just to challenge yourself to better your time, the atmosphere at Dorney Lake makes this the perfect event at which to do this.

The event, held at the Olympic rowing venue Dorney Lake, Eton, provides a flat tarmac run and bike track as well as a lake with clean, calm waters to swim. As well as being a very safe and supportive venue, it also offers superb spectator viewing. The triathlon is always popular, offering a range of distances to either dip your toe into the water for the first time; to push yourself with a longer distance; or even to challenge yourself against the best in the Sprint Distance Triathlon.

So what are you waiting for? Get your friends together, join up, have fun and maybe even raise money for Breast Cancer Care. If this is your first foray into open-water swimming or triathlon, why not take advantage of some extra training and advice at one of our triathlon training days or open water swim seminars at Dorney Lake in May?Title sponsor, Shock Absorber are the UK’s leading sports bra brand, celebrating 15 years of providing expert sports bra support and will be on hand to offer advice. There are no muscles in the breasts, only skin and Cooper’s ligaments support breast tissue. Any excessive amount of breast movement puts strain on these ligaments causing them to stretch. Nothing can naturally restore them. Wearing a Shock Absorber sports bra will help to prevent long term damage to your breasts during exercise.

Spice Girl, Melanie C: “The Shock Absorber Women Only challenge is a fantastic celebration of women in sport. It allows ladies to compete in an environment which is encouraging and fun. Women contribute so much to the world of sport and these events offer a chance for all women to get involved regardless of their age or ability.”
