Equipment

Zone3WETSUIT HIRE

We’ve teamed up with Zone3 to offer you some of their great range of wetsuits that are perfect for the event for you to hire or purchase.

Zone3 has quickly become one of the most exciting and successful brands on the market thanks to its high performance products which year on year have achieved the highest industry reviews based on speed, comfort, price point and innovation.

Zone3AdvanceZone3 are offering their Advance wetsuit as part of their hire service for Human Race. The Advance has won many awards including 220 Triathlon magazine’s “Best Buy” award and has become the market leader for first-timers and those on a budget. The suit is made from super flexible, highly buoyant neoprene for an assured swim performance.

You can purchase or hire one of their leading wetsuits to make sure you’re fully prepared for your event. The options are:

  • Purchasing an Advance (£159) or Aspire (£299) wetsuit from the Human Race Shop
  • Hiring a wetsuit for the season (25th March – 7th October 2016) from the Human Race Shop

WETSUIT RULE:

We are often asked if wetsuits have to be worn at our events. But the wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is governed by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on water temperature one hour before the start of the event.

Water Temperature Wetsuit Rule
Water Temp less than 14 degrees Wetsuits are COMPULSORY
Water temp 14 – 22 degrees Wetsuits are OPTIONAL
Water temp above 22 degrees Wetsuits are BANNED

We do say that wetsuits in fact help with buoyancy and warmth, so we strongly recommend that you wear one if they are optional. We will keep you updated with water temperature as we get closer to the event but at Dorney Lake it is almost always an optional wetsuit swim.

Zone3BIKE HIRE

You can hire a fully serviced and cleaned bike perfect for the event from our partners British Bike Hire.

Charity & Fundraising

OFFICIAL CHARITY – HOW YOUR MONEY HELPS

Every day 10 children and young people hear the shocking news they have cancer. CLIC Sargent  provides clinical, practical and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

Here are some examples of how your sponsorship could make a real difference:

£33 – could pay for a family to stay overnight in one of CLIC Sargent‘s eight Homes from Home. Staying in a Home from Home ensures a family can be close to their child during treatment. The atmosphere in a Home from Home is friendly and welcoming. If they are well enough, the child or young person can stay there too.

£170 – could pay for a CLIC Sargent grant. Cancer can have a huge effect on a family’s finances and a CLIC Sargent grant is offered to children and young people with cancer, and their families, as soon as they come into contact with us to help meet the sudden extra costs that a cancer diagnosis can bring.

£210 – could pay for a CLIC Sargent Nurse for a day. So that they can coordinate clinical and non-clinical care for children with cancer, to maximise the amount of time they can safely spend at home, and ensure that treatments can be given closer to home where possible.

£570 – could pay for a CLIC Sargent Play Specialist for a week. so that they can help a child prepare for and cope with treatment, by using models, toys and photos to explain what will happen.

£821 – could pay for a CLIC Sargent Social Worker for a week. They will aim to meet children and young people with cancer, and their families, soon after diagnosis helping them to understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer, through treatment and beyond.

Join Team CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent is the Official Charity for this event.  Every day 10 children and young people hear the shocking news they have cancer.  CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
