Sprint Triathlon: 750m Swim, 21.2km Bike, 5km Run
The Eton Sprints Weekend triathlons are widely regarded as the official start of the UK triathlon season. Taking place at the fantastic Eton Dorney Lake, one of the iconic venues of the 2012 Olympic Games, the SuperSprint Saturday event starts with a 400m open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for a 4-lap bike course covering 21.2k. The final 5k run follows an out and back course along the side of the rowing tank on tarmac paths.
The venue provides the ideal environment for first time triathletes or experienced athletes looking to get an early season time under their belt and there’s always a buzzing atmosphere for both participants and supporters alike.
Each day will offer two MATES WAVES, in which friends will be able to race together; there is limited capacity for these popular waves, so get in quick if you can
You can pre-order all your digital photos for just £15 (normal price £25) – click here to find out more.
The wave times for 2018 are below; please note these are subject to change for the 2019 event.

We are often asked if wetsuits have to be worn at our events. But the wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is governed by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on water temperature one hour before the start of the event. Read the wetsuit rule for triathlons HERE.

You can purchase or hire a Zone3 wetsuit to make sure you’re fully prepared for your event at the Zone3 interactive race hub here.
We are often asked if wetsuits have to be worn at our events. But the wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is governed by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on water temperature one hour before the start of the event.
|Water Temperature||Wetsuit Rule|
|Water Temp less than 14 degrees||Wetsuits are COMPULSORY|
|Water temp 14 – 22 degrees||Wetsuits are OPTIONAL|
|Water temp above 22 degrees||Wetsuits are BANNED|
We do say that wetsuits in fact help with buoyancy and warmth, so we strongly recommend that you wear one if they are optional. We will keep you updated with water temperature as we get closer to the event but at Dorney Lake it is almost always an optional wetsuit swim.
