WomenOnly Swim Registration
Registration will take place in the marquee between 7:30am and 8:45am. Please bring photo ID with you to registration. Find your race number from the lists on display, and then show your ID to pick up your race pack, timing chip and race memento from the registration tables. Your race pack will contain a swim cap and a sticky number with your race number on it. We will also be writing your number on to your hand in black marker pen.
Will we be providing a secure baggage area next to registration.
Instructions for Applying Your Numbered Sticker
You will receive a sticky number in your race pack, which is to be stuck onto your swim cap. In order to work the swim cap needs to be stretched out, put your swim cap on your head and then place the sticker on the front of the cap. Be careful when you do this as there is only one sticker printed for you and there will not be a spare number if you do it wrong. DO NOT AFFIX TO YOUR WETSUIT.
Timing mats will be positioned at the end of the swim. You will need to collect your ankle timing chip before you leave the registration marquee. The timing chip should be threaded through the Velcro strap which is then placed around your ankle as low down as possible. As well as providing you with an accurate time for your swim, this timing chip will be used for security and identification purposes at the start. If you lose your timing chip then there will be a charge of £35 to replace it – so don’t lose it…
Your finish time will be clocked as you exit the water under the large black inflatable arch.
Safety and First Aid
Medical teams and ambulances will be available in case of accidents. There will be plenty of water safety personnel on the lake for the swim, including divers as an additional spotters.
IMPORTANT: If you feel unwell on the day - don’t swim!
IMPORTANT: If for any reason throughout the swim you decide to stop swimming and get out you MUST inform one of the Human Race crew and return your timing chip so that we do not think that you are still in the water!
A baggage store will be available, however space is limited so please keep your bags small. If you are coming by car, it would be helpful to leave your items locked in your boot. Please do all you can to ensure the security of your belongings as we cannot accept responsibility for any loss of property.
There are portable toilets situated near registration, plus toilets and showering facilities available in the boathouse. Access to these and catering services (upstairs in the boathouse) will be available all day, along with further catering vans in the event village area. There are also a few outdoor catering vans near the Registration area.
After your swim there will be a couple of Milton Dips available by the registration Marquee to dip your wetsuits in. We recommend dipping your wetsuits in the sterile solution after any of our swim events.

Use of Wetsuits
Wetsuits are optional for all swimmers. However, if you are new to open water swimming the use of a wetsuit is advisable as they provide you with extra warmth and buoyancy. It is a good idea to have practiced swimming in the wetsuit prior to the event to ensure it fits and to also familiarise yourself within the open water environment.
