Getting the right bike

15th September 2015

So you may be thinking of upgrading your bike this summer, but not sure where to start? This quick guide will show you the ropes and ensure that your Liv bike is perfect for you!

Riding style

Getting the right bike2This is one of the major factors in deciding on a new bike and it must fit the level of riding you are intending to do. Liv categorise this into 3 areas; performance, sport and lifestyle.

Lifestyle: this type of riding is intended for a more upright riding position – wider handlebars, straight back and larger step over clearance mean that these bikes are relaxing to ride and perfect for leisure rides at a cruising speed. Check out the Flourish range – pretty yet practical, and the basket is always a winner.

Sport: This mixes the improved speed and agility of a performance road bike with the added comfort of the wider, flatter handlebars. The sport range is lighter and has a wider range of gears for improved climbing. The Dash range is ideal for a first road bike, with more relaxed geometry allowing a smooth transition from leisure to road riding. Plus, the looks are pretty nice too!

Performance: Covering the Liv range of road bikes, from the entry Avail model to the women’s specific racing bike Envie Advanced, the performance range is ideal for anyone looking at taking their road biking a little more seriously. An Avail 1 is a sub £1,000 bike that can do anything – group rides; solo sessions, centuries or triathlons. The world is your oyster with the Avail, improving your performance and reliability.
